The group of projects titled “Brass Perspectives” started in 2018 under the umbrella of the Bulgarian Music Association - the largest professional music organisation in Bulgaria - in a partnership with the National Academy of Music “Prof. Pancho Vladigerov”. The first Brass Perspectives international project called “The Trombone and the Contemporary European Music” was held in March 2019. It included a master class of the famous prof. Branimir Slokar and Slokar Quartet concert. The project was supported by the Cultural programme of Sofia Municipality.

From 2019 to 2020 there were two seminars held in a partnership with the National Academy of Music, Bulgarian Brazz Association and attendants from all over the country. The main topics of the seminars were related to possibilities for leveling up the qualification of brass teachers and mentors in Bulgaria according to the newest trends in Europe.

In 2020 the Summer Academy for Brass Ensembles and Percussions was established in Koprivshtitsa in a collaboration with the Municipality of the city. The initiative of prof. Karafezliev led to the founding of a new association titled “Brass Perspective”, dedicated to classical, medieval and contemporary music for brass instruments. The main aim of the Association is to popularise both Bulgarian music for brass instruments and its current performing artists. Two new projects of Brass Perspective Association, supported by the National Fund of Culture in the Republic of Bulgaria will start in September 2021.
